The main objective of this unit is to prepare students to cope well in an English speaking country, after they learn about the main transport systems in the area; as well as the websites they may use to buy flight, train or coach tickets online. Last but not least, they will decide on which activities to do and the places, landmarks or tourist attractions to visit. It is addressed to all the EOI second year of Advanced Level B2, due to their quite autonomous use of the language. The approximate timing will allow students to plan their trip; to learn about the Cornish culture and history, including its famous ‘pasties’ and mining past; and to decide on which places of interest to visit (according to the group’s individual interests). The final product will be an audio or video summarizing the group’s project. It will be designed to serve as a guide to other students who would like to travel to the area; including useful information such as how to plan the trip, which places to visit, currency exchange, etc. The individual interests of the members in each group within the class will be taken into account. Additionally, the steps to be followed will be adapted as we advance in the unit. The final project will be co-evaluated by the individual student, their peers and the teacher.
